2-Hour Webinar:

Creative and Expressive Therapeutic Approaches for Children

In this brand new workshop you’ll discover how to move beyond worksheets and traditional talk therapy. Learn how to harness the power of play, imagination, and children’s special interests to foster genuine connection and growth. This webinar will provide you with actionable strategies to create therapy sessions that feel natural, engaging, and affirming—therapy that doesn’t look (or feel) like therapy.

Whether you’re new to neurodiversity-affirming work or looking to deepen your toolkit, this webinar will inspire you to make your sessions more meaningful and effective for every child.

  • Creative Approaches to CBT and Other Evidence-Based Therapies
We’ll discuss how to adapt CBT-style interventions to be more engaging and accessible for neurodivergent children. Learn how to incorporate playful, imaginative, and sensory-based activities into cognitive and behavioral work, as well as how to creatively integrate elements from other therapies such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). You’ll leave with new ideas for making these therapies more flexible, responsive, and fun.

    Building Rapport—Beyond Uno and Jenga
Rapport is the foundation of all therapeutic work, but neurodivergent children often need more than standard ice-breakers. We’ll share innovative ways to connect with children based on their individual interests and communication styles, including how to use art, storytelling, technology, and sensory play to foster trust and engagement right from the start.

    Play as Therapy
Discover the power of play as a therapeutic tool in its own right. We’ll cover practical ways to create playful, child-led sessions that support emotional regulation, self-expression, and problem-solving. Learn how to recognise and respond to the unique ways neurodivergent children play and communicate, making space for therapy that feels safe and enjoyable.

Group Therapy: Board Games, Dungeons & Dragons, and LEGO-Based Therapies
Explore how group-based interventions can harness the social and creative strengths of neurodivergent children. We’ll discuss how to run board game groups, facilitate Dungeons & Dragons sessions, and use LEGO-based therapies to build social skills, cooperation, and confidence in a supportive, affirming environment.

Taking Therapy Outside the Therapy Room
Therapy doesn’t have to be confined to four walls. We’ll look at the benefits and practicalities of outdoor and community-based sessions—whether that means taking a walk, engaging in nature-based play, or integrating real-world experiences into your therapeutic work. Learn how to adapt your approach to meet children where they are most comfortable and engaged.

4-Hour Webinar:

Conducting neuroaffirming diagnostic assessments

This webinar is a crash course in conducting comprehensive, neurodiversity-affirming diagnostic assessments. We aim to equip you with the skills to create meaningful referral questions, tailor test batteries, engage children in the process, provide neuro-affirming feedback to parents and children, and write impactful reports that create empathy for the child and will be read by parents and teachers. Hosted by clinical psychologists, Dr Jade Goodman and Brianna Thomas.

  • Identify Meaningful Referral Questions: Learn to formulate questions that go beyond a simple diagnosis, addressing the child's unique needs and context.

Tailoring Test Batteries: Discover how to select and customise assessment tools to align with specific referral questions.

Engaging Children: Techniques to involve children in the assessment by helping them generate their own questions, fostering a collaborative environment.

Neuroaffirming Feedback to Parents: Strategies for providing feedback that addresses both explicit referral questions and unspoken concerns parents may have.

Writing Effective Reports: Tips on crafting reports that are clear, concise, and useful for all stakeholders involved in the child's care.

Leave the training with a folder of resources, including templates and relevant readings.
